Monday Again

I made a lot of silly mistakes today.

First, before Pathology lecture, I went to a toilet and in a rush (ok, not really a rush, I was thinking about something), I actually forgot to flush the toilet before I came out. So, the person waiting to use my cubicle had to flush for me. So embarrassing! How could I have forgotten something which I do multiple times a day?!

After school, I was talking to Yi Hong about the confusion I caused when I asked her if we had to go to the lab to record results today. It was supposed to be James' group, not mine! So anyway, we talked along the way from LT 24 to LT 27. Suddenly, Seng Han and Kai Ye popped up behind us. There was a bazaar there and this girl tried to ask me to buy an ice-cream cone for charity. I was in a rush to go for tuition, so I told the girl I would come back tomorrow if she's still there. She said she would. Seng Han was like, "Wow, Christy is so smart." How can I allow him to think that I came up with an excuse just to not donate? So I started explaining things. Guess what Seng Han replied? "Hmm, Christy has a charitable face." LOL! I didn't know what to say.

Just then, Yi Hong suddenly disappeared without saying bye to us. Seng Han and Kai Ye were like, "Where's she?" We figured out that she probably had a lecture and so, continued walking. I needed the toilet (something I do everyday before leaving NUS) and said bye to the both of them near the toilet area. Seng Han gave a confused look while Kai Ye understood. "She's going to the toilet la!" OMG! Why is going to a toilet suddenly so weird now?

I remembered my fortune cookie on Facebook saying that today's a lucky day for people who remain cheerful and optimistic. I don't know if I was lucky, or that bus 95 missed me so much that today 3 buses stopped at the Science bus stop at almost the same time. It's like, my 3rd or 4th time taking 95 in 2 weeks! I then took 95.

Anyway, tuition was kinda horrible because they already know all about organic chemistry and they kinda felt my lecture was boring. Oh well. I gave them some work to do after teaching. When I was too bored to continue reading my Med Chem notes, I decided to go through the MCQs. And I made 2 dumb mistakes that they could point out out of 10 questions! And it's not like I did the questions during midnight. I did them on Sunday afternoon!

One student asked me, "aren't chemical property and chemical reaction two different matters?" I couldn't reply. I tried to explain that they are the same, but she couldn't understand and said it's alright. I felt so dumb. But they are the same, aren't they? Then she continued asking, "What's the reaction to change alkane to alkene?" I got dumbfounded again. I had to admit that I forgot and would get back to her later, with the other 4 students giving me a look. ARGH!

It was only after I sat down beside her that I realised she was asking about cracking reaction. Like, crack butane to ethene and ethane. I thought she meant reduce butane to butene and hydrogen gas! But then again, I didn't know if reducing butane to butene was possible. Man. I have to google it later.

And oh, I got NUSSU diary without having to travel down to Arts. But I don't want that as the lucky thing for being optimistic and cheerful! It took me such pains to be cheerful after Pathology lecture because the lecturer was speaking really fast. I have to listen to recordings again, and I might as well read my Patho textbook!
