The New Public Transport Fare Structure
Ok, the title of this blog post is very misleading... Haha. I'm not gonna critique the new Distance Fares structure, but am just gonna talk about how it would affect me when I go to school in the coming academic year.
Actually, I really love the old fare structure of giving me rebates when I make transfers... I transfer from bus to MRT to bus just to go to NUS, so I really save a lot on the old fare structure. I didn't even have to buy concession anymore! Then came the new fare structure, and I heard about how 1 out of 3 people would experience an increase in public transport fares, I kinda got worried. Good thing was that there's the Distance Fares Calculator by LTA, I calculated that it would cost me around $1.79 for a single trip to school. So there's still no need for me to buy concession. I was happy for that. I wonder if I save more on this new fare structure, but I can't remember how much my old fare was. I guess the difference wouldn't be significant.
So I'm actually happy!
Then I saw this feature called Journey Planner I think. So I decided to find out if the route which I've been using for the past 3 years to go to NUS is really the best route. Seems like it is so! =D I can't be more happier.
And it's just one more year to go... Soon, the journey to school which sucks all the life out of me would be over. Ha ha ha ha ha...
