A Fulfilling Monday

Lots of things to report today!

School started (duhz) and on my way to school, I realised I forgot to bring my Med Chem tutorial! It's like one of the very few times I did my tutorial before coming to class and I actually forgot! Had to trouble Seoh Thin to come to school earlier so I could photocopy the questions from her. =\

I felt so proud of myself today! Today was YC Lim's last lecture for Pathology. At least, that's what I heard. Don't know if it's true or not, and I can't be bothered to verify anyway. I chewed 2 gums and I didn't fall asleep for her lecture! It's like the first time out of her series of lectures that I 95% followed what she said closely. Maybe it's because it's her last lecture. Or maybe it's because it's the start of school.

I was at Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange waiting for my bus 269 to take me to the tuition centre when a female commuter queueing for the same bus behind me began (in Mandarin):

She: Har-low.

Me: (I didn't care, I didn't turn my head back)

She: Har-low. Har-low.

Me: (turned back) Yeah? (I thought she might wanna ask if the queue was leading to bus 269.)

She: (pointing to the top of my head) Where did you buy this from?

Me: Huh?

She: (kept pointing) This.

Me: (it took me a LONG while before I realised she was talking about the hair clip on my head) Oh. Er... Erm... An accessory shop. I think AMK Hub upstairs has such an accessory shop. (my mind was in a whirl)

She: I couldn't find it anywhere!

Me: (knitted my eyebrows) Oh is it? (I was thinking, what does she want? So weird!)

She: Yeah! I searched everywhere but couldn't find it. It's very pretty.

Me: (meekly) Oh, er, hehe. Thanks.

And I turned back to the queue. A few moments later...

She: Har-low. [I related the incident to my mum later on, at this point of time in the story, my mum was like, is she normal?]

Me: (turned to her and look at her) ...

She: You sure upstairs might sell?

Me: Erm, yeah. Any shop selling hair clips would have it...

She immediately left the queue and took the escalator upstairs...

So weird la! Seoh Thin was commenting on the story of the baker and me, that people I meet are weird. I would say that the baker is a stubborn uncle. This female commuter, I think she's plain weird!

How would she be able to find a hair clip like the one on my head if she's never seen it before? I kept thinking about where I bought my hair clip and realised that I actually bought it from Chamelon in Causeway Point. Oh well. My mum says she'll probably figure that it was sold out. And is my hair clip so likeable that she has to buy it at once? Weird! (Now my hairs are standing up...) But in any case, I was still thinking about the incident when I boarded the bus and it occupied my mind when I was supposed to be studying Med Chem!

Nonetheless, however weird she may be, my hair clip is pretty! Hee hee. =X

My speed for going through the tuition questions was awfully slow, but I thought I did an okay job. I gave them Air and Atmosphere questions to do, and one girl asked me to go through the topic because her school skipped it. I asked if anyone wanted to listen to me, 'cos if not, I can just concentrate on her. No one opted out.

With that, I began my lecture on the composition of air, the type of calculation questions that would come out, the various types of air pollutants and real-life examples of how they harm our health. I was having such a good time lecturing them (because there's no absolute rule to emphasise for this topic) that I used 20 minutes on a topic that my sister's textbook used only 10 pages to cover! They were so impressed at my knowledge of the greenhouse effect leading to global warming and carbon monoxide fighting with oxygen for binding to haemoglobin and how people die while sleeping in cars that they looked at me intently and didn't complain that I was boring or too slow. I was impressed with myself too, because I didn't prepare any materials beforehand and whatever I lectured just flowed out of my mouth. Haha. I've rebuilt my image well this time round! I can consider being a teacher!

Yawns. I'm so sleepy. Will get up early tomorrow to do my Food and Health project. I'm so lucky school starts late tomorrow.
